Dan Simmler is the head coach at Worcester MMA.

Dan has been an active competitor since 1999 and has been nationally ranked in the top five as a US competitor for eleven years, including four years at #1.

Dan is known for his competition background and experience on both the North American Grappling Association (NAGA) and Grappler’s Quest circuits which are currently the two largest grappling circuits in the USA.

Dan was awarded his black belt in May of 2010 by Matt and Nick Serra, as well as Renzo Gracie. Dan has had an impressive career and is a great competitor medaling internationally at EVERY belt level! Dan’s experience in martial arts speaks for itself!

Jesse began training Jiu-Jitsu in 2009 after meeting meeting our head coach at Worcester State University.  He started teaching early morning classes at WMMA  in 2022 and received his black belt under Dan Simmler in 2021.

Jesse enjoys all aspects of fitness. He excels in staying up to date in the Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu meta and sharing what he learns in his classes.

His favorite part of teaching at Worcester MMA is watching the development and growth of new students as they work toward their own personal goals.

Max Simone is the head coach for the kids & teens program at WMMA

Max began practicing Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu in 2010. He started his teaching both Adult & Children’s classes in 2012 and received his black belt from Dan Simmler in 2021.

As the Head of our Kids & Teens program, his goal for all youth students (ages 4-16) is to create an environment that helps to build emotional and physical resilience and fortitude through exercises, drills and lessons focused around self-defense, competition and fitness.
